Stephens College Donor Platform Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 7, 2026

Stephens College is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors and supporters. This statement outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you visit or make a contribution through our donor platform at give.stephens.edu, hosted on Givecloud and integrated with DonorPerfect, our donor management database.

We Do Not Sell Your Information

When you make a donation or create a donor profile, you may provide personal information such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and payment details. Stephens College uses this information solely to process your contribution, issue tax receipts, acknowledge your generosity, maintain accurate donor records, and communicate with you about the College and giving opportunities. Stephens College does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, except as required by law, audit, or legitimate college business operations.

Information We Collect

To process donations and maintain donor relationships, we may collect:

  • Name and contact information (email, mailing address, phone)
  • Payment information (processed securely through our payment partners — see below)
  • Donation history, amounts, designations, and campaign source
  • Recurring giving schedules and payment method on file
  • Planned giving intentions and related estate information, when voluntarily disclosed
  • Giving and communication preferences
  • Employer information (for matching gift purposes)
  • Tribute, memorial, or honoree details, when applicable
  • Donor Advised Fund (DAF) sponsor and account information, when applicable

We may also collect general, non-identifiable technical information to improve site performance, including IP address, browser type, referring webpage, and visit date, time, and duration. This data is analyzed in aggregate.

Payment Processing

Our donor platform is powered by Givecloud and integrated with DonorPerfect for donor record management. Payment transactions are processed through secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment providers depending on the method you choose:

  • Credit Cards — processed through Givecloud's integrated card processor
  • Bank Transfer (ACH/EFT) — processed through our integrated banking partner
  • Wallet Pay (Google Pay and Apple Pay) — processed through the respective digital wallet providers
  • PayPal — processed through PayPal, Inc.
  • DAFpay (Donor Advised Funds) — processed through the DAFpay network and your DAF sponsor

Stephens College does not store full credit card numbers or bank account details on our systems. By making a donation, you acknowledge that your payment information will be transmitted to and processed by these providers in accordance with their respective privacy and security policies.

Recurring Donations

If you set up a recurring gift, your payment information is securely tokenized and stored by our payment processor to enable scheduled transactions. You may modify, pause, or cancel your recurring gift at any time by logging into your donor account at give.stephens.edu or by contacting the Advancement Office. You will receive a receipt for each successful recurring transaction.

Planned Giving

If you share information with us about a planned gift (such as a bequest, charitable trust, beneficiary designation, or estate intention), we treat this information with the highest level of confidentiality. Planned giving information is stored in DonorPerfect and accessed only by authorized Advancement staff. We will not disclose planned giving details publicly without your explicit, written consent.

Tax Receipts and Acknowledgments

As a donor, you will receive a tax receipt and/or acknowledgment of your gift. These communications are a standard part of the donation process and are not considered promotional. Receipts and records are retained in accordance with IRS requirements and institutional record-keeping policies.

Donor Recognition

Stephens College may recognize donors publicly (for example, in donor honor rolls, annual reports, named giving societies, or campaign materials). If you prefer to remain anonymous, please indicate this preference during your donation or contact our Advancement Office directly.

Stephens College, Givecloud, and DonorPerfect employ reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards — including SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission, tokenization of payment credentials, and PCI-DSS compliant payment processing — to protect the information you provide. However, no online transmission is ever fully secure, and we encourage donors to exercise discretion when submitting personal information online.

If you prefer not to submit personal or payment information online, you may contribute by phone, mail, or in person. Please contact the Stephens College Advancement Office for assistance with alternative giving methods, including planned giving consultations.
